Reviews of this product:
Lives up to its name, and then some.... This is now the most dog-eared book on my shelf, testament to how good it really is. June Cohen brings real-life examples of successes, AND failures to life, inside a very well structured framework for starting, or in my case re-starting a web project. The book is a little biased towards media sites but the examples given are a solid basis for any web project. Some of the MSN examples are worth the price of the book alone in getting and keeping site traffic. Where the book works best is in taking you back to square one of the project and thinking about your user again, then hand holding you through the steps of gathering requirements, coming up with suitable navigation etc etc. It's not a technical 'how-to' manual, but will definitely bridge gaps in understanding between a non-web-savvy manager and his development team. The book includes chapter summaries and checklists so you can plough through the essentials in a day if needed. If you're managing a new or existing web project, get it, and actually use it is my advice. I've been on courses costing thousands that didn't help me as much as this book.
