Reviews of this product:

Oh, YEEAAAHHH!!!
O'Reilly have done it again! This book is the only thing you'll need to learn Perl. Everything you need to know is here. Even a newbie like I am (errr... _was_) can learn from this. You want to learn Perl, GET THIS NOW!!! You won't regret it.

Oustanding Perl Reference
This is THE Perl book (or books to buy. I am a big fan of O'Reilly books and this one is no exception. Once you get used to reading the book online it is an invaluable source of information.

Impressive book and excellent service from Amazon (again!)
This package will see me through all stages of learning Perl plus I don't have to lug around a pile of books. Just a laptop and CD !!

If you can get used to onscreen reading then what better bargain is there than this. A total of six books in one package plus you can search all six at once !!! Now thats what I call magic :)

Also, yet again Amazon come up trumps - normally cheaper than anywhere else plus delivered within 2 days of ordering...

Everything you need to know about Perl is right here!
The CD bookshelf is a great utility for learning Perl or for Quick referencing. The CD will guide you from print "Hello World.\n"; to building a database driven, GUI-interfaced stand-alone executable program.

One remark : although the CD is a tremendous source of information, I find myself reading the hardbound edition of Pearl in a Nutshell the most. Why? Nothing can beat taking a book to your bed, table, bathtub...

BUT : nothing can top 6 books for the price of 1 and a half.

ADVICE : you want to learn/use Perl? Get the CD!

Creme de la creme
Thanks to folks at O'Reilly.

I already own 5 books featured on the CD. An absolute must for Perlophiliacs. Apart from obvious advantages, low cost of ownership, less luggage to carry around (if you are a nomadic programmer, you'd understand), now you can paste all examples directly into your programs!

When I started out to learn Perl a few years ago, I had to struggle with many books, manuals, papers, word of mouth. Now you have the power. Start with "Perl in a Nutshell". Jump straight to "Perl Cookbook". If in doubt consult "Programming Perl". Rest will come naturally.

The CD bookshelf makes it easy to hop around 5 cool books and one really hot one!

Only regrets...I'd have liked the missus to buy it for me for X-mas...
