I wish ALL textbooks were like this!If you want to know the nuts and bolts of just how the brain works, I can't imagine a better way of doing it than getting this book.
It's the best textbook I've ever read, on ANY subject. The author clearly knows his subject completely, and tells it in a clear friendly and accessible way - but without the slightest "dumbing down". Explanations are clear, as concise, AND as detailed, as necessary, and put over with the occassional touch of humour. All essential points are beautifully illustrated with pictures and diagrams which work just as hard as the text at educating the reader.
If all textbooks were like this, there'd be no excuses for poor grades.

late, but great :)to be honest it was quit late... it arrived 4 or 5 weeks after I ordered it, which was kind of extremely annoying. however, the book is in fantastic condition :)
A must for degree students!This book was recommended by our lecturer as the core textbook for our Biopsychology module in 2nd year and I have to say I do agree! It's easier to read that some other books even if there is so much to take in! I have to confess I havent looked at the Cd yet....but I will, I am just a book person!
Great contents but cheaply made book!This book is well written, with a clear and interesting layout. It's ideal for a text book and enjoyable to read. However, with the price of it I expected the book to be in better quality. The back and front covers curl right back and the paper inside is made of thin, cheap paper. It's a shame because the content is great but it's made really badly. Friends have got this book from other stores and not had the same problem.
