hot and cold connectionsExcellent book in depth information on the subject not a beginners book but the next step when you need more info than most other jewellery books give you.No pretty pictures and no wasted space. not a step by step book but invaluable.
Must have reference bookIt isn't pretty, it isn't colourful but, if you make jewellery, it does give you the "A-Z" of how to join part A to part B. It's a book for the workbench not the coffee table and I suspect I shall be dipping in and out of it for years to come.
Dissapointing refence bookI have several books by this author including "the complete metalsmith" which is a good bench reference book. Unfortunately, "Hot and Cold Connections for Jewellers" is quite disappointing. The written text is ok. The drawings by the author are deeply disappointing. Obviously Mr McCreight can draw, but the drawings are not good enough for a book of this type. They need to be much better than those used in the book. Personally, photos would have been far more effective in conveying the information required. I use Oppi Untracht's book "Jewelry Concepts and Technology" as a benchmark. This book falls far short of that.
very disapointingThis is the first book that I have, written by this autor. There is nothing in it.Nothing!.No usefull thechnical explanations,no ideas,no ispiration,no novelty.Again, Nothing !!!
I have no intetion to buy any other books written by this autor.
Hot and Cold ConnectionsI would suggest to anyone thinking of buying this book, to perhaps sample first before buying it if you can, as I don't think it is for the beginner, unless as to use while taking a course covering the contents of the book. A very useful book for the more experienced crafts person.
