Rang and Dale's PharmacologyGreat book, really in depth but covering all sorts of topics, very helpful with the unit I am currently studying and helpful for a tutorial comparing various recreational drugs.

Great book! But not essential for medical studentsI loved the book as a student and often find myself revisiting it a few years on.
Having said that it is not essential to have as a medic. Most of the information is contained in books you'll have/lectures you've been given. Failing that then there's always the BNF - a much undervalued upto date reference book!
PharmacologyIt's a perfect choice for every student who's studing that subject. You'll find there more than you're looking for.
