Serious stuffThis is not for the casual snapper, but for someone looking for the theoretical analysis of images this is the tops. Very well illustrated and carefully worded items give the person looking to improve a deeper understanding of what lies behind the 'feeling' of a good image - inspirational!
A good readBeing relatively new to photography, I purchased this book to help me get better shots quickly. Although there are a few really good points and chapters, I found the book in general quite difficult to read and understand. The terminology and explaination is very technical and for someone just starting out its rather impossible to make sense of it all.
Although it's a good read I wouldn't recommend this to anyone starting off and would probably leave this book for those more advanced photographers who care about Fibonacci composition.
Step up to become a photographerThe book is great.. i have been clicking pictures since long.. but this book helps understand what a photographer must keep in mind while taking snaps.
It helps make the next steps towards sensible photography.

Wonderful bookAs one who has only become interested in photography as a hobby since 2008, this book is a must (along with Understanding Exposure). Simple, concise, and with great images.
