Hmm...I have always found the Sims strategy guides useful and this was certainly useful, though whether it was essential or not is not really the point. If you are desperate to buy it, I suggest that you buy it in New and Used, as otherwise it may be a slight waste of money! If you need all the information NOW, go ahead, but if you've got awhile, I suggest you just look on the net - you'll find all the available information.
