Brief and to the pointIt is a brief book which simply gives the technique. Its shortness makes it better than it would be otherwise.I think its "hints" are very good and only people who live in a certain atmosphere can know.
RCAThe field of Root Cause Analysis tends to feature some very expensive books, so it's refreshing to see something which is a little more accessible. In some respects this book has clearly been designed for use by beginners. Taking people step by step through the process - and the chapter on identifying the problem is one of the best I've read. For that alone, it's worth the price.
But for me, this book falls down when it moves into the analysis of an incident. Whilst cause and effect charting is a very effective technique, it's not one I would advocate for complete beginners, or at least, not without considerable more depth and support than that given here.
But I would recommend this book - simply for the problem section. I haven't seen it better described anywhere else.
